Our days on the road are nearing their close and we’re Oklahoma bound, passing through Flagstaff, Arizona at the moment. It’s been a wonderful adventure…filled with incredible sites, fun fellowship, and unforgettable experiences. Thus far, we’ve logged 1700 miles with another 1000 to go before we’re home.
We ended our final night on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon sitting around our camp fire roasting hot dogs, cooking s’mores, and popping popcorn. I’d never had authentic-campfire-s’more so even on our last night, I added another first.
During this trip, we’ve stayed in four camp grounds, visited three National Parks, added four commemorative mugs to John’s cup collection, and two Christmas ornaments to our stash of memories. Among my many awesome-forever-wonderful-remembrances will be Mother’s Day spent at the Grand Canyon with hugs from my Phoenix Six, a picnic dinner eaten late in the day overlooking the grandeur of Bryce Canyon, many fun on-the-road walkie talkie exchanges with Sharon and Sandra, and days that culminated with thankful hearts, discussions of our faith, and thoughts about the wonder of His creation. Also, I must not forget to mention enjoying Sandra’s homemade peanut clusters everyday. We’ve decided to ration them so they’ll last the rest of the trip. : )
We can’t wait to get home and download our four hundred or so pictures and share the best ones with you.
Thank you, Lord, for the marvelous wonders of your creation. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
